Hello all,

My name is Sam (sjdichter). I use GR2A3 for review of weather events for post-chase analysis of what I saw. I'm by no means a professional storm chaser, meteorologist, or photographer. However, I have found a love for the 3 of these and have combined them into my new favorite hobby.
I am based out of Southern Maryland, so I jump at any opportunity to chase a good storm. Our weather is very picky and sometimes unpredictable. Combine that with the terribly heavy traffic (at least in terms of what our infrastructure is supposed to handle) and seemingly endless stretches of tree lines, and you end up with very small windows to get out there and see some really cool things. I am learning to juggle radar interpretation, driving, spotting, and photo opportunities by myself. Luckily (or unfortunately...), our storms aren't the most severe in the country but we occasionally get some good ones; we had a microburst come through recently with military AWOS confirmed 77mph winds, with likely higher winds prior to reaching the installation!
I look forward to spending some time discussing and learning from everyone!
-Sam
