Just thought I would remind everyone We have 6 weeks left till the Official start of the 2025 Hurricane Season,  Are you Prepared should one form this year?

Did you know the #1 killer in Hurricanes is the "Storm Surge" An abnormal rise in tide caused by the actual Hurricane as it nears the coastline the storm surge in Hurricanes can exceed 8 feet above normal tides? People caught on the shoreline can be swept away by the storm tide.

Hurricanes also spawn tornadoes, Especially on the right front Side of the center of the storm,  Often exceeding 100 miles outward from the center of the storm & add to the Storm's destructive power.

Always Remember...The right side of a storm is the stronger side, Left side Weaker depending on where it is headed.

Preparedness/Actions:  Do not go outside during the height of the Hurricane You will be blown around like that of a piece of paper & Shelter in place like you would as if you were in a Tornado Warning in an interior room without windows and when the eye of the storm passes over your locale there will be a Lull the winds will whip up again from a different direction there will be Very heavy rains that can cause flash flooding be aware of Flash Flooding!

Your Hurricane Kit should include Canned foods like soups, Water 3 to a person per day, Can Opener that doesn't run on power, a NOAA Weather Radio is best for receiving alerts, Batteries, First Aid Kit is a must, Board up Windows, Tape will not help!

When if should you leave before the storm?  My rule of thumb is either you Live along the shoreline or you live in a Trailer, If a Hurricane is Catergory 3 or more I would likely leave no questions asked.
